Snow Day

I'm not usually a fan of the snow. If it was up to me, I'd stay hidden in my home until every drop of snow disappears. My son however, absolutely loves the snow. Last year, I took Nolan in the snow for a few minutes, but he was still a baby and he didn't really play in it much. This year, he had the time of his life. He jumped into the snow almost immediately and it was impossible to get him back inside. He was rolling around in it, and making snow angels. My mother showed him how to make snowballs and he was throwing them at me the entire time. It was really nice to see him having so much fun, especially since we're at home most days with his speech therapist and teacher. Once he started eating the snow, I made him come inside, though. We had some hot chocolate like I always used to have as I was a kid. Even though I was glad to see him enjoying himself this winter, I can't wait for spring.

About Me

My name is Jenna Politano. I am 23 years old and I'm currently going to school for early childhood special education. I have a 2 and a half year old son named Nolan. His nickname is Nolie Polie, hence the blog name. Nolan is the reason I wanted to get into education in the first place. Since he was about 18 months old, he's been receiving services through early intervention. He goes to school 2 hours a day, 5 times a week. He receives 5 days of speech therapy as well as occupational therapy. He also has a teacher come to the house for 2 hours a day. I saw how much progress he has made and how happy it has made me. I would love to work for early intervention and be able to help other families with young children who are delayed and need the extra help. This is what really pushed me to go back to school for my master's degree.
